The Uses of Twin Spindle Turning Centers

One of the most commonly seen features of an industrial machine is the use of a twin-spindle turning center. Although they are not normally associated with large industrial machines, they can be very useful for some smaller jobs.

One of the most common uses of a twin-spindle is as a right hand or left hand turning machine. For example, if you were to use a right hand or left hand mill, it would simply operate by driving the spindle on either side. The twin-spindle does not use one spindle to make both sides, so the advantages of a single turn become irrelevant.
